New sizing?

I bought 4 pairs of my usual 36/32 only to find that they were tight, although my old ones that had gone through the wash multiple times remain a great fit. I’m not sure if the sizing changed arbitrarily or reflects a change in the material such that less shrinkage is expected. In either case, disappointed that my “go to” pants are no longer an option.
